فى البداية شرح بسيط على زمن الماضى المستمر
يُسْتَخْدَم الماضي المستمر لوصف الأفعال أو الأحداث في فترة زمنية قبل الآن، حيث يكون الحَدَث قد بدأ في الماضي وما زال مستمرًا حتى وقت الكلام. بعبارة أخرى، يُعَبِر الماضي المستمر عن أفعال غير مُنتهية أو غير مكتمِلة في الماضي
هذه هي الصيغة التي يمكنك من خلالها بناء جملة في الزمن الماضي المستمر.
Subject + was/were + (verb+ing) + the rest of the sentence
was ⇒ I , he , she , it ,
were ⇒ You , they , we ,
Affirmative:- الاثبات
Subject + was/were + (verb+ing) + the rest of the sentence
Examples:
I was listening to the news.
كنت أستمع إلى الأخبار.
He was driving a car.
كان يقود سيارة.
It was raining when you came.
كانت السماء تمطر عندما أتيت.
Negative:-النفى
Subject + was/were + not + (verb+ing) + the rest of the sentence
اختصار
( Wasn’t = was not / weren’t = were not )
Wasn’t ⇒ I , he , she , it
weren’t ⇒ You , they , we
Examples:
I was not listening to the news.
لم أكن أستمع إلى الأخبار.
He was not driving a car.
لم يكن يقود سيارة.
It was not raining when you came.
لم تكن تمطر عندما أتيت.
Interrogative:-الاستفهام
Was/were + subject + (verb+ing) + the rest of the sentence
Examples:
Was I listening to the news?
هل كنت أستمع إلى الأخبار؟
Was he driving a car?
هل كان يقود سيارة؟
Was it raining when you came?
هل كانت تمطر عندما أتيت؟
Were they eating?
هل كانوا يأكلون؟
Negative Interrogative:- نفى الاستفهام
Wasn’t/weren’t + subject + (verb+ing) + the rest of the sentence
(Or)
Was/were + subject + not +(verb+ing) + the rest of the sentence
Examples:
She wasn’t watching TV.
لم تكن تشاهد التلفاز.
They weren’t listening.
لم يكونوا يستمعون.
Was it not raining when you came?
ألم تمطر عندما أتيت؟
استخدامات زمن الماضي المستمر :
1- يستخدم زمن الماضي المستمر للتعبير عن فعل كان مستمرا في وقت معين في الماضي بينما قطعه فعل آخر في الماضي .
While I was playing, I fell down.
بينما كنت ألعب ، وقعت على الأرض .
I was watching TV when she called.
كنت أشاهد التلفزيون عندما اتصلت .
2- حدث بياخد وقت في الحدوث
I was working in the garden all day.
كنت أعمل في الحديقة طوال اليوم .
He was reading all evening.
كان يقرأ طوال المساء
3- تريد التأكيد على إجراء أو حدث كان يحدث في وقت ما في الماضي.
فمثلا:
He was working on his project all day.
كان يعمل في مشروعه طوال اليوم.
My mom was looking for these keys the whole day.
كانت أمي تبحث عن هذه المفاتيح طوال اليوم.

سؤال 17 .الخيارات لا توجد مشكلة .هناك من لا يعرف الاختصارات
سؤال 19 . استخدام “when” في هذه الجملة هو صحيح. “When” يستخدم للإشارة إلى الزمان أو الوقت الذي حدث فيه شيء. في هذه الحالة، الجملة تقول إن Sandy قابلت أصدقاءها عندما كانت في طريقها إلى المنزل.
